2012/03/22 - Update on the FTM Drawing:

As you know, we submitted our members roster to RANDOM.ORG and had them perform their Third-Party Draw service to assure an independant drawing. The original members drawn were:

1st:	Patrick Fagan 218
2nd:	Dana Hall 76

Dana and Patrick have both contacted me. While Patrick will be the recipient of Family Tree Maker 2012 - Platinum Edition, Dana has graciously declined, as Dana is already using FTM 2012. Dana asked that we put the prize back in, and redraw a new name. I will tend to that task once again with RANDOM.ORG.

2012-02-03: Update on Membership Numbers & Drawing

Membership numbers were adjusted from 224 to 208:

While sending out the last newsletter and update, I found several email addresses that 'bounced'. Looking at the reasons for the bounces - they were no longer valid email addresses. Those members have been deleted from the membership. None of them had any valid contact methods other than email.

Profile updates/visits since the recent newsletters:

21 of our members have revisited since the newsletter on January 6. Of those 21, 14 have updated their contact information - THANK YOU!! Hopefully more of our members will return and join us in the Forum, and will update theirs as well.

It's February already! 43 more days until the drawing!

2012/01/28: New Look, New Functionality!

Well, once again you're looking at a new website, and I have replaced the old junky "forums" with one that actually works! Along with that, I changed the look of the website and upgraded the 'engine' that runs it. My hope is that with the new Forum, we'll get more activity, questions, comments and exchanges of ideas.

While I was able to look at the import of the users from the old website, I noticed that a few of the required pieces of information were missing for quite a few of our members. I would ask that you go in and double check your profiles, and make sure your information is up to date so that we can include you in the drawing for 2 free copies of Family Tree Maker 2012 (Platinum Edition)!

2012/01/28: Help us celebrate having 200+ members!

FTMPlatinum 175x175 tcm23-156161 We've gone over the 200 member mark, and to celebrate, we'll be having a drawing in March! The prizes are 2 copies of Family Tree Maker 2012! The drawing is only open to registered members of the Association with valid mailing addresses - so log in and update your profiles before March!

2012/01/04: Happy New Near!

Happy New Year to all our members!

With members from all over the world, looking for ancestry information, or maybe just to find other Fagans, I get very excited to see the growth of this website and of the Association! Our member count has grown to 227!!

I have some tricks up my sleeve for the new year. I am planning on relaunching the site, with a better forum application. (We thought the one we had would work better, but alas - not all new things are good things.) We'll be going back to a more robust technology and I hope to see you all in the forums! It is a members-only forum, so all I ask is that you sign up for membership - it costs nothing. (Those who are already members will be automatically added to the forums.)

I'd like to thank you all for joining with other Fagan 'cousins' to help make this Association a success.
